  • Welcome!

I'm Chelsey Simons, your local Louisiana licensed Mandeville barber. Having grown up on the Northshore I've been thrilled to be back in Mandeville for the last several years raising my children with my supportive husband. My goal is to provide not just a haircut, but a comfortable and welcoming experience for every client who walks through my door. This includes a growing line of men's grooming products I handcraft locally so whether you're looking for a classic cut, a modern style, a relaxing hot towel shave or expert beard grooming, I'm here to help you look and feel your best.

Come visit me and experience the blend of skill, passion, and love of our community that defines my shop. I look forward to meeting you!

  • Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often should I get a haircut?

A: That largely depends on you. Clients who prefer fades, tapers and other shorter styles usually come every 2-4 weeks while some get really short cuts then let it grow for several months.

Q: Do I need to book in advance?

A: The best way to ensure your spot with minimal to no wait time is to use my super easy online booking system. I often have same day appointments available and if there is nothing on the booking site that works for you, don't hesitate to message me, I can usually work something out. Walk-ins are welcome when I have openings but appointments will always take precedence.

Q: What if I don't know how to explain what I want?

A: Bring 2-3 photos of the haircut styles you like with the understanding that those photos were likely posed and meticulously styled. Be careful to pick photos of models whose hair resembles your own texture and preferably color, i.e. don’t bring a photo with curly hair when yours is straight or a photo of an anime/cartoon character. If you don’t have a reference photo you can describe the look you're going for, or choose the "barbers choice" option. Either way I will adjust the cut to suit your hair and your preferences.

Q: How long does a haircut usually take?

A: Most haircuts and hot towel shaves take 30-45 minutes. Add on beard care and we’ll need an additional 10-20 minutes.

Q: What should I do if I'm running late?

A: Send a quick message. I'll try to keep your spot, but after 10 minutes, you’ll forfeit the oh so relaxing hot towel shampoo service or you may need to reschedule.

    Q: What's your policy on no-shows?

A: I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, but I totally understand that life happens. You can adjust your appointment online up to 12 hours before your scheduled time. Missed appointments will be charged the full price of the booked service. When you book that time, it’s yours. I don’t make an income unless I’m cutting hair so if you decide to pay for me to have a break and a snack instead of getting your hair cut, I mean… I won’t argue but I will thank you for your thoughtfulness!

*If I’m able to fill your missed time slot I will waive the cancellation fee.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: In order of preference - Cash, Venmo, Apple Pay, Credit/Debit

    Q: Do you offer line-ups/edge-ups?

A: I offer a 15 minute cleanup intended to clean up around the ears and the back of the neck only, I do not offer lineups or edge-ups. My focus is on full haircuts and clean finishes that match your overall style. If you’re looking for sharp detail work like line-ups, I’m happy to recommend a barber who specializes in that.

Q: Do you cut all hair types and textures?

A: Yes, I cut all hair types and textures and give every client my full attention and care. While I don’t have a lot of experience with tightly coiled or Afro-textured hair, I’m always learning and open to feedback. If you’re comfortable in my chair, I’ll do my best to give you a cut you‘ll feel good about.

Q: Do you do hair designs or custom patterns?

A: I don’t currently offer design work or shaved graphics. My focus is on clean classic cuts, natural styles and fun trendy cuts. If you’re looking for detailed designs I’d be happy to recommend a barber who specializes in that kind of work.

    Q: Can I request a quiet appointment?

A: Absolutely. Just let me know. However, please be aware that I can not control the volume or conversations in the shop, only what happens in my barbers chair.

Q: How do you stay up to date?

A: I love learning about my craft. I attend expos and conferences as often as possible, do online and in person trainings, follow some of the top Barber influencers on social media and, of course, I do tried and true networking. I’ve learned that trends evolve, but caring about my work and my clients remains constant.
