Welcome!
I'm Chelsey Simons, your local Louisiana licensed barber and owner of The Barbers Chair in Mandeville. Having grown up on the Northshore, it means a great deal to build something of my own here while raising my children alongside my supportive husband.
My focus is creating a refined, comfortable environment where every client can expect consistency, professionalism, and a personalized experience. Each barber at The Barbers Chair operates independently allowing flexibility in scheduling and services while maintaining the consistent standard of quality my shop is known for. From classic cuts and modern styles to relaxing hot towel shaves and expert beard grooming, each service is delivered with care and attention to detail.
The Barbers Chair also features a growing line of men's grooming products that I handcraft locally, allowing clients to maintain their look between visits with products made specifically for performance and quality.
Come experience the level of service, craftmanship, and community that defines my barbershop. I look forward to welcoming you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How often should I get a haircut?
A: Haircut frequency depends on your style and maintenance preferences. Fades, tapers, and shorter styles are usually maintained every 2–4 weeks, while longer styles may go several months between visits. Your barber can help you find the right schedule for your needs.
Q: Do I need to book in advance?
A: The best way to ensure your spot with minimal to no wait time is to use our super easy online booking system. We often have same day appointments available and if there is nothing on the booking site that works for you, don't hesitate to message us, we can usually work something out. Walk-ins are welcome when we have openings but appointments will always take precedence.
Q: What if I don't know how to explain what I want?
A: Bring 2-3 photos of the haircut styles you like with the understanding that those photos were likely posed and meticulously styled. Be careful to pick photos of models whose hair resembles your own texture and, preferably, color, i.e. don’t bring a photo with curly hair when yours is straight or a photo of an anime/cartoon character. If you don’t have a reference photo you can describe the look you're going for, or choose the "barbers choice" option. Either way we will adjust the cut to suit your hair and your preferences.
Q: How long does a haircut usually take?
A: Most haircuts and hot towel shaves take 30-45 minutes. Add on beard care and we’ll need an additional 10-20 minutes.
Q: What should I do if I'm running late?
A: Send a quick message. Your barber will try to keep your spot, but after 10 minutes, you’ll forfeit the relaxing hot towel shampoo service or you may need to reschedule.
Q: What's your policy on no-shows?
A: We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, but we do understand that life happens. You can adjust your appointment online up to 12 hours before your scheduled time. Missed appointments will be charged the full price of the booked service. When you book that time, it’s yours. We don’t make an income unless we're cutting hair so if you decide to pay for your barber to have a break and a snack instead of getting your hair cut, well... we won’t argue but we will thank you for your thoughtfulness!
*If we're able to fill your missed time slot your barber will waive the cancellation fee.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: Payment methods vary by barber, but most accept cash, Venmo, Apple Pay, and credit or debit cards.
Q: Do you offer line-ups/edge-ups?
A: Line-ups and edge-ups are available at The Barbers Chair. Please book with a barber who offers that service.
Q: Do you cut all hair types and textures?
A: We welcome all hair types and textures. Each barber operates independently and may have different areas of experience and specialization. When booking, we recommend selecting the barber who best fits your specific hair type and desired result.
Q: Do you do hair designs or custom patterns?
A: Hair designs and custom patterns are offered at The Barbers Chair, depending on the barber you book with. Some barbers focus on clean, classic cuts and natural styles, while others offer detailed design work and shaved graphics. If you’re looking for custom designs, please select a barber who provides that service.
Q: Can I request a quiet appointment?
A: Yes—just let us know. For the best experience, contact us in advance and we can recommend times when the shop is typically quieter. Please note that we cannot guarantee a completely quiet environment.
Q: How do you stay up to date?
A: Continuous learning is a priority. This includes attending expos and conferences, participating in online and in-person training, following leading barbers in the industry, and maintaining strong professional connections. Trends may change, but a commitment to quality work and client care remains constant.
